Indian cultural centre

Exhibitions

We have held a variety of exhibitions at our centre since 2001. We invite painters, ceramists, photographers and sculptors to share their work with us and our public. Our goal is to enable Indian and western artists drawing inspiration from India to present their conceptions and passions.

Every two or three years, the Cultural centre of the city of Gembloux holds a widespread exhibition which brings together a variety of artists in different fields. Sapna has had the pleasure of collaborating with the Gembloux cultural centre each time by inviting different artists to exhibit their creations in our centre. During these exhibitions we also organise other activities such as concerts, story-telling evenings or Indian meals.

In May 2009, we were pleased to showcase the works of an Indian diplomat, Ambassador Placido P. D’Souza, who displayed his unique collection of portraits of world leaders whom he encountered during the course of his career in the Indian diplomatic service as also sketches of other noted leaders and public personalities. Almost all of these portraits are exceptional in that most of them have been signed by the individuals they depict.
