In December, 2000, we opened a boutique of Indian handicrafts
in Gembloux.
Both
of us are originally from India, a country of vast contrasts
and diversity. Our goal is to highlight the art and colour
that is part of Indian daily life. Indian handicrafts are
a silent but eloquent symbol of a rich culture rooted in history
and tradition.
We
go back to India several times a year, to shop in the markets
and workplaces for handicrafts and textiles. We respect the
work of local artisans and stay away from middle men so that
those who actually produce the handicrafts get a fair price.
